“The Romanians” series successfully launched in November 2019 at Film Forum in New York and traveled through February 2020 to Berkeley and Seattle. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its 7-city U.S. Tour was postponed.
Until screenings resume in cinemas, Making Waves continues online and has made a 15-film selection available for streaming, with many of these titles accesible online on demand for the first time for wider U.S. (and international) audiences.
Select titles will also screen in Virtual Cinema format in collaboration with leading arthouse cinemas in the country, key partners of the retrospective and the planned U.S. Tour, including Film Forum New York, Lightbox Film Center in Philadelphia and UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) in Berkeley, California (with more to confirm soon).
